John Cook and Joey Sindelar are making a move on Sunday at Savannah Harbor.

John Cook and Joey Sindelar are more than just happy to be a team again at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf – they’re making a run at winning it.

The former Ohio State University teammates are 10 under on their final round through 15 holes and lead at 27 under, one shot ahead of the teams of Andy Bean/Chien Soon Lu and Michael Allen/David Frost in the two-man better-ball format. Their hot play includes a four-birdie streak from the eighth to 11th hole at Savannah Harbor Golf Resort.

Cook and Sindelar were runners-up in 2010. A year ago, Sindelar withdrew after four holes in the first round with back pain, leaving Cook to finish the round alone. Cook played very well, shooting 6 under himself and to post a team score of 7 under, but he declined to play the rest of the weekend by himself.

Sindelar said his back started “barking a little bit” last week, but there was no way he was letting his old friend down for a second year in a row.

Defending champions Mark McNulty and David Eger shot 22 under for the week, closing their Liberty Mutual with two rounds of 64 on the weekend.
