HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Carl Pettersson got his fifth career victory Sunday and second in an RBC-sponsored event with a final-round 69 to capture the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links.
The 34-year-old Swede shot a final-round 69 to win by five over Zach Johnson. The win is his first since the 2010 RBC Canadian Open and moves him to fourth in the FedExCup standings.
Pettersson was nearly flawless on a picturesque final day at Harbour Town, where he led by one at the start of the day and sped away from the field with three birdies in his first five holes. He made just one bogey in a breezy final round and took just 26 putts.
For the week, Pettersson led the field in greens in regulation on a course with the smallest greens of any stop on the PGA TOUR. He was also first in putts per green in regulation.
Johnson got within three of Pettersson with a birdie on the par-5 15th but bogeyed the next hole. He never got any closer and bogeyed the last to shoot 70.
Colt Knost, who played alongside Pettersson in the final group, struggled right from the start. He bogeyed the opening hole and made triple bogey on the third before finishing with a 74.
Crowd favorite Boo Weekley, who has won here twice and began the day five shots back, shot 73 to finish in a tie for sixth.
