Sean O'Hair chipped in for eagle on Monday to help lead Team Isleworth to the first-round lead of the Tavistock Cup.
The Tavistock Cup, now in its ninth year, features 24 of the top touring professional members of Albany, Isleworth Golf & Country Club, Lake Nona and Queenwood Golf Club.
Monday’s first day consisted of better-ball stroke play, with three two-man teams representing each of the clubs.
Van Pelt and O’Hair led Team Isleworth, which also included the duo of Bubba Watson and Charles Howell III (9 under on Monday) and Daniel Chopra and Robert Allenby (4 under). That gave the Isleworth team a combined score of 26 under.
Team Lake Nona is in second place at 24 under.
Tiger Woods is playing for Team Albany and was paired with Justin Rose on Monday. The duo finished at 9 under, with Albany moving into second place at 23 under.
Team Queenwood is at 17 under for fourth place.
Tuesday’s second round features individual stroke play. Each team will count six 18-hole individual scores. The team with the lowest score in relation to par at the end of both rounds will be crowned World Golf and Country Club Champion.
The Tavistock Cup exists to raise money for many worthy causes. The Tavistock Cup has generated more than $7 million for charity in its nine-year history.
