Inside the numbers on PGA National

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Here’s a look at how PGA National, including the infamous Bear Trap, has played the first two days. With similar weather conditions here in the third round, expect more of the same.

Scoring Averages at the par-70 PGA National

The par-3 17th -- the third of the infamous Bear Trap holes -- played the toughest during the second round, with a 3.308 average. Here’s a look at how the rest of them played.

Round 1: No. 15 (3.105/7th toughest), No. 16 (3.938/14th toughest), No. 17 (3.118/7th toughest).
Round 2: No. 15 (3.105/8th toughest), No. 16 (4.021/14th toughest), No. 17 (3.308/1st toughest)

There’s also been a difference between the afternoon and morning rounds here, so it’s possible someone could make a charge early Saturday or Sunday.
