PGA TOUR veteran Paul Goydos underwent surgery to remove a bone spur in his left wrist on Tuesday.
Goydos tweeted Wednesday that the "Surgery went well. The Doctor didn't find any problems but the Bone spur." He later tweeted that it will be 6-8 weeks "at best" before he will touch a club.
"Will no more when I go back to the DR next week," Goydos tweeted.
The 47-year-old, who is a two-time PGA TOUR champ, also thanked his Twitter followers for their good wishes. "To all of you out there in twitter world, thanks for the kind words and support. I don't have the most followers, but I think I have the best" @PaulGoydosPGA
At least Goydos will have some entertainment during his layoff. His alma mater, Long Beach State, takes on New Mexico at 4:10 p.m. ET on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament.
