SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Keegan Bradley had to do it.
He'd just made a 12-footer for birdie at the 15th hole, so Bradley was pumped. He looked at his caddy, Steve Hale, otherwise known as Pepsi, and got the go-ahead.
So the Tom Brady jersey came out and Bradley, an avid New England Patriots fan, slipped his arms into the sleeves. Bradley walked through the tunnel and soaked up the cheers at the lively par 3.
At the same time, though, Bradley was extremely nervous. He said he knew "if I hit a bad shot they would really got on me for that."
But Bradley didn't. Even though the jersey, an XXL, was practically hanging off his lanky frame, Bradley managed to hit his tee shot to 21 feet and nearly made the birdie putt.
"It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Bradley said after finishing off a round of 67 on Sunday. "My hands were shaking. I hit a really good shot and I almost made the putt. I am so happy I did it. I feel more happy about that than the way I played."
After his round, of course, Bradley was headed to the nearest TV.
"I am feeing good," he said. "I am really excited for the game. I am going to rush out of here so I can get some pregame in. I think the Patriots are going to win."
