LA QUINTA, Calif. -- Brendon Todd is playing in the Humana Challenge for the first time in his young career.
But he should have come to the California desert with confidence after winning the PGA TOUR National Qualifying Tournament just down the road in December.
Todd shot 17 under at q-school to take a one-stroke win over Stephen Gangluff and earn his TOUR card for the second time. Q-school was played on the Nicklaus Tournament and Stadium Courses at PGA West.
Todd's playing La Quinta Country Club in the second round of the Humana Challenge on Friday and he's 3 under through 10 holes. He's moved into a tie for fifth at 9 under, which is three strokes off Ben Crane's lead.
The former University of Georgia golfer shot four 68s at Waialae last week to tie for 13th at the Sony Open in Hawaii.
