LA QUINTA, Calif. – The wind-delayed third round of the Humana Challenge is finally finished.
But Brandt Snedeker likely wishes he could have kept playing. The Tennessean had five holes to complete on Sunday morning at La Quinta – and he birdied all of them.
That closing surge fueled a 66 for Snedeker that moved him into a tie for second at 18 under, three strokes behind Mark Wilson. Also at 18 under are Zach Johnson, Ben Crane and Robert Garrigus, who climbed into contention with a 61.
Final round tee times will begin at 10:10 a.m. PT (1:10 p.m. ET) and players will be sent in threesomes off two tees.
The cut came at 6 under and included 75 players. Among those was Phil Mickelson, who birdied his last hole for a 66 to move into a tie at 7 under.
