LA JOLLA, Calif. -- All 79 players who survived the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open are out on the sun-drenched South Course now and Kyle Stanley has lengthened his lead to three strokes.
Stanley made a 10-footer on the second hole to move to 15 under. His playing partner, Brandt Snedeker, bogeyed the first when he found the left rough off the tee and put his second in a greenside bunker so he is tied for second with Martin Flores.
Flores made birdie on the first and bogeyed the second, so he remains at 12 under where he started the second round. Six players are tied at 10 under, including Tim Herron, rookie John Huh, Justin Leonard, John Rollins, reigning FedExCup champ Bill Haas and Pat Perez, who grew up playing at Torrey Pines.
Of that group, Herron has made the biggest move, playing his first seven holes in 4 under. He made birdie putts of 4, 7 and 18 feet, and Herron tapped in for another after narrowly missing a 36-footer for eagle at No. 6.
