ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- Webb Simpson two-putted No. 18 from 42
feet for a par and a 3-under 67 in the second round of the
McGladrey Classic. Simpson’s 10-under total ties him with
Michael Thompson atop the leaderboard. Simpson, who has two
victories this season, is at Sea Island in search of a move to the
top of the money list. He’s done all he can through 36 holes
and knows a win would put him $650,000 ahead of Donald with just
one event to go. Billy Horschel is bogey-free in his second round
and just one behind the co-leaders. Playing the par-4 13th,
Horschel has ample opportunity to catch, or pass, the leaders
before the day is done.
