ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- Aside from Trevor Immelman’s
tournament-record-tying 62 Saturday, there haven’t been many
players going low on the Seaside Course the last two days. Round 1
featured 15 rounds of 65 or better but the last two days have seen
a combined total of three. That number figures to trend back upward
today. Alexandre Rocha is on No. 18 and is already 5 under for the
day. With a birdie on No. 11, Robert Allenby has joined him at the
5 under mark. A trio of others -– Bud Cauley, Blake Adams and
Heath Slocum – are at 4 under. Slocum, the 2010 champion
here, just birdied No. 13 to reach 4 under while Cauley, who is
looking to lock up his 2012 TOUR card, has four birdies through 11
holes. Seven others are at 3 under, including St. Simons Island
resident Matt Kuchar, who has played just seven holes in his final
round. On the leaderboard, Allenby is currently tied for fifth at 9
under. Cauley, Slocum and Kuchar join D.J. Trahan, who is 2 under
through 6, at 8 under for the week and tied for 10th.
