ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- Paul Goydos has withdrawn after posting a first-round 79 at the McGladrey Classic. Goydos Tweeted on Wednesday that he’d tweaked his left oblique muscle and was unsure whether he’d start the event. He attempted to go Thursday but Tweeted this following the round: “Had to withdraw!! Shouldn't have started, to stubborn!! Hopefully I can play next week.” At No. 62 on the money list, Goydos doesn't have to worry about rushing back to retain his status on TOUR for next season.
