Rickie Fowler held the outright lead briefly but gave a shot away
with a three-putt on No. 17, then scrambled for par on the 18th to
reach the clubhouse at 9 under -- the Number Nick Watney reached
with his 62 earlier this afternoon. Fowler had six birdies in his
first 10 holes Saturday at Aronimink to initially get to 9 under,
but followed up the hot start with five consecutive pars. If the
leaderboard holds, there can be a lot of fireworks expected in the
Fourth of July weekend All-American final grouping. Watney, Fowler
and Steve Marino (who checks in at 7 under) combined to rack up 24
birdies and an eagle during Saturday's third round.
