Vaughn Taylor had a wild round of seven birdies and three bogeys in Thursday’s opening round, but he said he likes putting on slow greens, which TPC San Antonio has at least in a relative sense. That was evident by the 25 putts he took in the opening round (Taylor also switched to a TaylorMade Ghost putter a couple of weeks ago).
