Couples, others making moves in cold

Apparently the cold weather isn’t bothering Fred Couples’ notoriously cranky back too much. The 51-year-old just made his second birdie of the opening round after stuffing his approach on the par-4 second hole (he started on the back nine). That gets Couples to 4 under -- he also had an eagle on the par-5 15th -- and within two of the lead.

Meanwhile, Marc Leishman has bounced back with back-to-back birdies on Nos 14 and 15 after dropping a shot at the par-5 13th, where he hit his tee shot into the water.

Dustin Johnson, J.B. Holmes, Jason Dufner and Aaron Baddeley are a shot back of Leishman at 4 under for the week.
