Andres Romero aces the par-3 eighth hole in Saturday's second round at TPC Boston.
Andres Romero used a 6-iron to ace the par-3 eighth hole on Saturday. The hole is playing at 207 yards in the second round but is listed at 213 yards on the scorecard.
The hole-in-one moved Romero to 6 under for the tournament. A week ago, Romero had to drain a birdie putt of 40 feet, 6 inches on his 72nd hole at The Barclays in order to advance to this week’s event. Romero came in ranked 100th in points, the last man in the field.
The ace is the 30th on the PGA TOUR this year and the fifth in the history of the Deutsche Bank Championship. All five of those aces have come in the second round.
