McDowell, Wood update

Reigning U.S. Open champ Graeme McDowell is struggling a little during the first round of the British Open. The affable Northern Irishman, who favors cardigan sweaters -- they call them jumpers here in the UK -- rather than pullovers, is 1 over through 13 holes.

Meanwhile, Chris Wood birdied his 18th hole for a 70 that left him tied for 45th. The lanky Englishman has been virtually a sure bet at the British Open after finishing fifth or better in his first two starts but now he has considerable ground to make up.
