The early story Friday morning is another golfer named Lee in search of his first win on the PGA TOUR since 1998.
While his first-nine 32 doesn’t have the same luster Lee Westwood’s 29 had Thursday, Lee Janzen has added birdies at Nos. 2 and 3 to pull even with the Englishman for the top spot at the St. Jude Classic presented by Smith & Nephew.
Janzen, who was in the first group off the back nine at 8 a.m. ET, continues on a front nine where he had four birdies and two bogeys in difficult afternoon conditions Thursday.
Janzen has one top-30 finish in 15 starts this year -- a fourth-place mark at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in late-April. His best finish at the St. Jude Classic was a tie for sixth in 2003. -- Chris Dunham Jr.
