Round 4 recap: Poulter victorious again

Ian Poulter's fist pump is becoming a familiar sight. Poulter, who helped lead the Europeans to a Ryder Cup victory in September, celebrated again on Sunday with another fist pump after saving par on the 72nd hole for a 7-under 65 and a two-shot victory at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shenzhen, China. Poulter trailed by four strokes entering the final round, but quickly made up ground. He would finish at 21-under 267 overall on the Olazabal Course at Mission Hills. It was the Englishman's second WGC victory -- he also captured the Accenture Match Play Championship in 2010. "It's just so nice to get my hands on another trophy," Poulter told Golf Channel afterward. Phil Mickelson (68), Jason Dufner (64), Scott Piercy (65) and Ernie Els (67) finished in a tie for second at 19-under 269. Lee Westwood (72) and Louis Oosthuizen (72) finished a shot further back at 18-under 270. The Associated Press contributed to this report

Discuss: Who will finish No. 1?

No. 2 Luke Guthrie won in back-to-back weeks in September.
The Web.com Tour season will come to close today at TPC Craig Ranch, and there's a lot at stake for all 60 players in the field. When the final putt drops at the Web.com Tour Championship, players who finish in the top 25 on the money list will go home with PGA TOUR cards for the 2013 season. Nos. 26-40 will be exempt into the finals of PGA TOUR q-school and Nos. 39-60 will be fully exempt on the Web.com Tour in 2013. There is even more at stake, though for the player who finishes on top of the money list. The No. 1 player will earn fully-exempt status for the 2013 season on the PGA TOUR, as well as a spot in THE PLAYERS Championship. Casey Wittenberg entered the week in the top spot thanks to two wins this season, and starts the day in a tie for eighth. Keep an eye on Luke Guthrie and Russell Henley, each also with two wins this season and within striking distance of No. 1. Guthrie made his way to second on the money list with only nine starts on Tour this year. The winner of the tournament takes home $180,000.
Rank Player Start Money Wins Position

Quick Recap: Watney wins CIMB Classic

After a fourth-place FedExCup finish and a tie for 10th in Vegas, Nick Watney took his momentum overseas, winning the CIMB Classic by one shot over Robert Garrigus and Bo Van Pelt. Watney racked up 11 birdies Sunday at The MINES Resort & Golf Club, putting himself on 59 watch late in the round.

The 31-year-old needed a birdie on the final hole to join the sub-60 club but took a bogey that took 59 out of play and put victory in doubt. In the final pairing, Garrigus closed birdie-birdie to get close while an identical finish would have put Van Pelt into a playoff. Instead, the Hoosier bridied the 17th but found a greenside bunker with his approach on No. 18. Tiger Woods rebounded from Saturday's back-nine 39 with a Sunday 63 that left him in a fourth-place tie with Brendon de Jonge and Chris Kirk at 19 under.
