March 03, 2011
Tournament's signature venue will be named Capital One Bank Champions Club, featuring cuisine from 10 legendary New Orleans restaurants
NEW ORLEANS, LA (Feb. 25, 2011)-Capital One Bank has signed on as the Official Bank of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, announced tournament director Tommy Fonseca. The tournament's signature venue, featuring dishes from ten of New Orleans finest restaurants, will be branded the Capital One Bank Champion's Club.
Capital One Bank will also be involved in a number of other aspects of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans April 25-May 1, said Fonseca, as well as "off-season" activities to help raise funds for the Fore!Kids Foundation, the 501(c)3 non-profit that produces the tournament.
"Capital One Bank is widely known for its strong support of the communities it serves," said Fonseca. "Officials with the bank have particular expertise and success in sports marketing, and their involvement will greatly assist our mission of raising funds to support children's charities in New Orleans and south Louisiana," he added.
"We are proud to include the Zurich Classic of New Orleans as one of our leading community partners in this area," said Rob Stuart, President, Capital One Bank-Louisiana. The Fore!Kids Foundation represents exactly the type of organization we actively support, because its success contributes directly to the economic growth of our region" said Stuart.
In addition to the Capital One Bank Champion's Club, the bank's sponsorship will include a presenting role in the annual Louisiana Forward Economic Summit to be held Tuesday April 26 during the week of the tournament. Since its inception two years ago the annual Economic Summit-unique to the PGA TOUR-has featured prominent speakers such as PGA TOUR commissioner Tim Finchem, retired Zurich Financial Services James Schiro and Louisiana Economic Development director Stephen Moret.
"With Capital One Bank's assistance, we expect to attract even more high-level financial and sports marketing experts to our Economic Summit," said Fonseca. "This event is unique on the PGA TOUR and we hope to create a model that other tournaments will want to emulate," he added.
The Capital One Bank Champion's Club will feature dishes from ten legendary New Orleans restaurants for the four days of the Zurich Classic April 28-May 1. Participating restaurants include: Emeril's; Arnaud's; Galatoire's; Ruth's Chris Steakhouse; Hilton New Orleans Riverside ; Outback Steakhouse; Mr. B's Bistro; Zea Restaurants; Semolina; Drago's and P.J.'s Coffee.
The Capital One Bank Champion's Club is operated in partnership with the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation in its mission of supporting children in the community through culinary education and arts.
Tickets to the Capital One Champion's Club start at $175 for a single weekday and are available in packages that include VIP parking. Each ticket includes one signature dish from each restaurant with unlimited beverages from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for that day of the tournament.
In addition to the bank's visible presence on the golf course during the week of the Zurich Classic-including a number of branded mobile ATM's and groups of employees volunteering to work the event-Capital One Bank will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the annual Golf Ball gala that raises additional funds for children's charities in the autumn.
"We are extremely excited that Capital One Bank agreed to help us bring the Golf Ball to another level," said Fonseca. "With the bank's assistance, we expect the 2011 edition of the Golf Ball to become one of the most desirable gala tickets in New Orleans."
