Pinehurst No. 2 will have a new look when the 2014 U.S. Open is played on the legendary layout, which previously hosted the 1999 and 2005 U.S. Opens. Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore returned the Donald Ross design to its original look, replacing acres of Bermudagrass with the sandy soil that the area is known for. The U.S. Open is known for its penalizing rough, but the grass will only be cut at two heights this year, for the greens and the fairways. It will undoubtedly be a unique U.S. Open.
