The fourth round began at 10:20 a.m. while the third round was still being played. Gamez posted an 11 during the 1990 third round.

Second-year pro Zach Johnson led a group of 17 first-time participants at THE PLAYERS Championship. Johnson (76-283) tied for 8th place with J. L. Lewis, Davis Love III and defending champion Adam Scott.

The scoring average of 3.780 (.780-over par) on the par-3 17th hole during Monday's fourth round at THE PLAYERS Championship was the second-highest in tournament history. During the first round of the 1984 tournament, the hole averaged 3.853 for the round.
