This is a good, straightforward par 4 that plays back toward the bay, which means that many times the wind is in the golfer’s face. The landing area has two series of staggered bunkers, one short and to the right side of the fairway and the second farther down the left side. There are two more bunkers set along the left of the second leg of the fairway. The two-tiered green is unique in that the left side is higher than the right side. The right side is protected by two large bunkers cut into the right-front slope of the green complex. The left side is protected by a deep, grassy hollow behind the putting surface. Since the green is slightly elevated, it appears to be rather small for such a daunting approach shot, but the green is actually larger and more receptive than it appears from the fairway.
