|Forestier, Armour, Weston added to HGA Board|
HUMBLE, TX (June 18, 2013) - Tom Forestier and John Armour have been elected to positions on the Houston Golf Association Board of Directors and Pat Weston appointed to a newly created board position.
Forestier previously served as Vice Chairman of the HGA Board of Directors. He is a trial lawyer and shareholder in the Houston office of Winstead PC as well as a member of the firm's Energy and Environmental Law and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. He has served as chairman of the Executive Board of Northwest Assistance Ministries and as a Trustee for the Lone Star College System. An HGA member since 1997, Forestier now serves as General Counsel for the HGA and chairs the legal committee.
Armour served as HGA Academic Scholarship Program Chair for 2013. He is Chief Executive Officer for Parallon Business Solutions Supply Chain Services/Gulf Coast Division, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hospital Corporation of America. Previously he served as Chief Financial Officer for multiple Houston area hospitals and Market Chief Financial Officer. Active with HGA since 2008, he also chaired the 2013 Academic Scholarship Fundraising Pro-Am and served on Hospitality, Marshals, and Pro-Am committees.
Weston is now the liaison between the HGA Board of Directors and The First Tee of Greater Houston Board of Directors. Active with the HGA since 2003, Weston has previously served as Board Chairman 2009-2010, Secretary 2006-2008, Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee 2011-2012, Vice Chair of Tournament Support 2006-2008. Formerly president and CEO of a transportation company, he retired in 2000 but is still Executive Director for World Net Associates.
Jim Brothers, Board Chair, gave special recognition to fellow volunteers Dick Edwards and Frank Gruen, who completed their terms. Staff member Steve Timms, HGA President/CEO and Tournament Director for the Shell Houston Open, announced that Board Officer positions will be released in the near future.
