Glen Oaks Country Club History

The Community
In 1991, a group was formed to convert 532 acres of farmland into what is now known as Glen Oaks Residential Community and Glen Oaks Country Club. The desire of this group was to create a community, club and golf course unparalleled in the state of Iowa. By the fall of 1992, the streets in the first phase of the development were completed. In the spring of 1993, construction of residential home sites began and the first resident moved in July 1993. In December of 1993, Glen Oaks Country Club was officially incorporated, and the club and its facilities were sold to the members. The practice fairway opened in May 1994 and was followed in rapid succession by the pro shop, locker rooms, and Bogey's Grille in July 1994. The remaining areas of the clubhouse opened in August 1994.
