Welcome to the 2009 Charles Schwab Cup Championship, and thank you for volunteering.  This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, or as we like to view it: 20 Years of Giving, 1990 - 2009.

The 2008 event returned $400,000 to area charities, which brings our total charity contributions to nearly $2 million. I hope that each of you takes pride in that number because your time, commitment and energy are major contributors to our ability to achieve these amazing giving levels.  

The time and commitment of each of you is much appreciated and very necessary to ensure (1) that our sponsors and Champions Tour players have a great time, (2) hat each spectator has a positive experience, and looks forward to coming back next year and (3) that we continue to return the greatest amount of money back to Sonoma County.

In addition to a heartfelt thank you to each of you, I want to thank the people who make your volunteer experience enjoyable, our Vice Chairs and Committee team leaders. Time is the most precious resource that we humans have, and we at the PGA TOUR appreciate the fact that you are willing to unselfishly share yours with us.

We have received some very positive responses from all of the volunteers that responded to the 2008 Charles Schwab Cup Championship survey. Thank you all for taking the time to fill out the survey. All comments are discussed at great length in order to make out tournament the best on the PGA TOUR. With this in mind, for anyone who would like to fill out a survey but did not get the opportunity to use the on-line link feature. Your comments are important to us as we look towards our seventh and final year at the Sonoma Golf Club.

The winner of the 2008 Charles Schwab Cup Championship volunteer survey contest is Mark Visconti. Mark has worked at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship since 2003. He has been invovled in the Supply Distribution, Disabled Services and Informataion committees. Congrtaulations! You will receive a comlimentary volunteer package fee - a cost of $95.00 for taking the time to complete the survey.

The volunteer survey contest winner was selected at random. The results of the survey were not based on comments. Volunteers were identified by their e-mail address if names were not attributed to comments, etc. Thanks again for all of your hard work in 2008!

Due in large part to the efforts of volunteers like you, the 2003 - 2008 Championship events have donated over $1,800,000,000 to local charities including the Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma Valley, Hanna Boys Center, Sonoma Mentoring Alliance, CommonBond Foundation, NCGA Foundation, Twin Valley Acquatics, The First Tee of Oakland, the Presentation School, Sonoma State University, Vineyard Workers Services, the Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation and many more.

Volunteers are the backbone of this championship and we really appreciate your generosity! We hope that all of you will return to make the 2009 CSCC better than last year.
