| Wendy's Walk for Kids |
![]() Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers is excited to announce its 3rd Annual Wendy's Walk for Kinds at the upcoming Dick's Sporting Goods Open on Sunday June 26th, 2011 at 2 PM. All are welcome to walk! We welcome adults, children, co-workers, clubs, teams, organizations, schoolmates and friends to join. Admission to the Dick's Sporting Goods Open on Sunday is FREE with your $10 registration fee. There will be family-friendly activities for the kids such as face painting, games and balloon animals. Registration forms are available at area Wendy's and online at www.wendyswalkforkids.com. Registration takes place 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM on Friday June 24th at En-Joie Golf Course. The first 1,000 to register will receive a free Wendy's Walk for Kids Tee Shirt. Walkers gather at 1:45 PM near the 1st and 10th Tees for the 2-mile walk, which begins at 2 PM. The goal of the Wendy's Walk for Kids is to raise money for programs whose purpose is to help children in our community realize their full potential, regardless of their life experiences and current circumstances. Last year, the Walk raised $80,000, which was distributed equally to four wonderful charities benefiting children; The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, The Children's Home, A Room to Heal, and The Institute for Child Development at Binghamton University. All of these organizations are local and support efforts to help children in the Greater Binghamton area. Our fundraising goal for 2011 is $100,000.
