Hole 1, Par 4, 382 yards
The shortest par 4 on the course, this is a slight dogleg left that is reachable downwind
with a driver from the back tees. Players can hug the left side of the fairway in hopes of securing a good angle into
this green. There is a water hazard down the entire left side of the hole, and a bunker in the right rough makes tee
shot placement on this short hole paramount. The undulations in this green make a back right pin position difficult
to get at.
Hole 2, Par 5, 551 yards
This dog-leg left par 5 has lateral hazards protecting both sides of the fairway which slopes
from left to right the entire length of the hole. Bunkers through the fairway off the tee in the right rough will encourage
the players to hug the left side of the fairway, even though there is a longer carry. Driver may not be the club of
choice off the tee. This elevated green is reachable in two, with a low collection area to the left of the green.
A subtle drop-off on the back right side of the green might catch a few approach shots.
Hole 3, Par 4, 377 yards
A short dogleg right par 4 that will test the player. Two bunkers through the fairway
are the target for a narrow lay-up off the tee. A shot in to this firm green with a short iron makes this a possible
birdie opportunity. Pines and Palmetto bushes protect the dog leg at the corner.
Hole 4, Par 3, 222 yards
This picturesque par 3 runs along beautiful water features and is the first of four long par
3s on this Arnold Palmer designed course. Two bunkers short of the green are only a threat if the pin is tucked in the
front. This large green has a subtle, deceiving break and a general slope from back to front.
Hole 5, Par 4, 455 yards
Look for the players to possibly lay-up on this par 4 as the fairway narrows 300 yards from
the tee. A water hazard runs the entire left side of the hole and the right side is protected by a bunker in the right
rough. This green has a false front and a subtle tier separating the back of the green from the front.
Hole 6, Par 4, 408 yards
This Tesoro Club signature design hole will be a lay-up off the tee for most players onto this
firm fairway. Players are faced with a second shot, forced carry, where trouble is just a few yards from the front of
the green. A short iron into this green is only troubled with a bunker left of the green and a collection area to the
right.
Hole 7, Par 5, 560 yards
From the tips, this reachable par 5 will be a great chance at birdie for the players.
Players will be forced off the tee to decide whether to lay-up to the waste area just under 300 yards out or hit with a driver
and carry the bulkheads where the second tier of the fairway begins. Either way, this hole is reachable, but a very
undulating green with pin placements near bunkers will add to the challenge.
Hole 8, Par 4, 424 yards
This is perhaps one of the most beautiful holes on the course. Trouble comes into play
off the tee in all directions. Wind will dictate tee shot selection and force the players to shy away from the left
hazard that an errant or too aggressive tee shot will surely trickle in to. This elevated two-tiered green is protected
by deep bunkers short of the green and mounds on opposite corners.
Hole 9, Par 4, 390 yards (Watson #18)
This short hole will be a good test for players as they finish their front nine.
Tee shots will need to be placed in the fairway to give the players the best angle into this almost island green which is
sloped severely from right to left. Penalizing bunkers, water down the entire left side of the hole, and the slight
dogleg will test the players. This is a great location to sit and watch the tournament.
Hole 10, Par 4, 417 yards
This mid-length par 4 will require accuracy off the tee as the fairway narrows between water
and waste bunkering down the right and another bunker through the fairway facing the player off the tee. A slightly
elevated, very large green has a bail out area left and a looming water hazard that creeps up the right side of the green.
Into the wind, this hole is a good test of golf.
Hole 11, Par 5, 562 yards
A tough driving hole with a long carry off the tee, especially if the wind is in the player's
face on this par 5. The forced carry off the tee makes a solid tee shot imperative. From the fairway, players
are faced with another forced carry lay-up shot to a wide landing area enhanced by surrounding preserve, or an opportunity
to thread a thin strip of fairway up towards the left side of the green. A short approach shot into a green with mounds
back right and front left, make pin position a critical aspect of this hole.
Hole 12, Par 3, 214 yards
The shortest of all the par 3s, is tucked in the trees and preserve. An exposed green
makes approaching balls susceptible to the wind. Trouble surrounds this slightly elevated green: bunkers short
of the green on opposite sides and drop-offs over the green will catch any errant tee shots. A large green with
subtle breaks will guard against too many easy birdie putts.
Hole 13, Par 4, 399 yards
A near blind tee shot over preserve and high fescue grass tests the players as they negotiate
a narrowing fairway and very penalizing left rough. Water down the entire length of the right side of the hole is not
visible off the tee, but reachable. This green is guarded by bunkers in the back left portion, a retaining wall on the
right dropping into the hazard, and subtle mounding, all making distance control into this green very important.
Hole 14, Par 4, 432 yards
This first of two very challenging par 4s, this dogleg left with water running the entire
right side of the hole forces players to favor the right side of the fairway, towards a bunker in the right rough, guaranteeing
a good angle into the green. A blind shot from the left rough makes hitting this fairway critical. The back portion
of the green slopes away from the players, but any shot in the middle of the green will leave a makeable birdie putt.
Hole 15, Par 4, 460 yards
With any significant wind, look for this hole to be one of the most challenging on the course.
Players will be tested with club selection off the tee considering the low lying preserve area down the entire length of the
right side of the hole that collects any shot bounding in that direction. The shorter the iron into the green the easier
this firm green is to manage. This green is surrounded by a sneaky water hazard left and a retaining wall right, making
a long forced carry to a right pin. A back pin on the right shelf is a tough test. Par here is a good score.
Hole 16, Par 5, 502 yards
A short par 5, players may have to lay up on this hard dogleg right to fairway bunkers that
guard from automatically hitting driver. As the players make the push for the clubhouse, this hole plays slightly downhill
and is reachable from the fairway. This large green is well protected but from the fairway this is a very benign hole.
Hole 17, Par 3, 225 yards
The longest par 3 on the course challenges the players as this hole is susceptible to whipping
Florida winds over a preserve lake in the distance, facing the players off the tee. This huge two tiered green will
result in some long putts. A low back tier will funnel any shot that is long into the greenside rough.
Hole 18, Par 4, 401 yards
A beautiful tee shot set back in the trees and preserve, this dogleg left tests the players
off the tee with a forced carry over a left bunker or a safe shot out to the right. This could be a short finishing
hole with an aggressive tee shot. A tricky elevated green and subtle mounding will provide a great finishing hole for
both the spectators and players.
