![]() Proceeds from the EDS Byron Nelson Championship support the activities of Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers (SCYFC), a nonprofit organization that is helping transform children's futures in the Dallas area. Following are the SCYFC programs: The Family Therapy Center offers counseling, parent education, psychological assessment and casework services for children (birth to 20 years) and families experiencing a wide range of problems, including school failure, behavioral issues, family violence, grief and loss, and abuse. Our team of experienced, licensed therapists provides services in English and Spanish to more than 2,500 people annually at offices in Oak Cliff and Northwest Dallas. J. Erik Jonsson Community School is a research-based laboratory school combining best teaching practices with current brain research to create one exemplary model for educating inner-city children. This accredited elementary school serves 260 three-year-old through sixth-grade children in an accelerated, enriched learning environment. The Salesmanship Club Institute for Excellence in Urban Education has been created as a vehicle to impact the lives of hundreds of urban children growing up in poverty. By sharing with educators the successes and best practices demonstrated at J. Erik Jonsson Community School, the Institute hopes to improve educational outcomes for low income students. Research, training and program sharing initiatives for educators and mental health professionals allow the Salesmanship Club to extend its reach in the community, touching many more lives.
