No player from Japan has performed better at TPC Sawgrass than Naomichi "Joe" Ozaki, the younger brother of Masashi "Jumbo" Ozaki. Of his nine starts in THE PLAYERS Championship, Joe Ozaki finished in the top 10 three times and had three other finishes in the top 30. His tie for sixth in 1993 is the best finish by any Japanese player at this event.
