National Mining Association Pete Dye Classic
| Why do we need volunteers? |
Over 800 volunteers are required to assist in many aspects of the tournament. Marshals, scoring, administration,
admission/ticketing, concessions, transport are just some of the different areas where volunteers are required.
Each tournament gives back substantial donations to charities and the volunteers are a primary reason for this by doing
so many important jobs during the tournament. Quite simply all tournaments could not function without a large pool of
dedicated volunteers!
|
| What are the benefits of being a volunteer? |
Volunteers receive an extensive volunteer package for their time and commitment. This includes....
An official tournament volunteer golf shirt
An official tournament volunteer hat
The official Pete Dye Classic lapel pin for the inaugural 2004 tournament as well as the 2005 lapel pin
A Volunteer pass as well as one tournament pass for your guest, valid for all days
An invitation to a volunteer appreciation reception featuring a visit from the 2005 tournament champion
Food and refreshments while working throughout tournament week
A voucher to play 18 holes of golf at the Pete Dye Golf Club (a minimum four shifts required)
In addition to the
volunteer package you will also get to experience the unique opportunity of being 'inside the ropes' and being up
close to the players and all the action. Volunteers are asked to pay a small volunteer fee that simply offsets a part
of the costs associated with the volunteer package. This enables the tournament to maximise their profits and therefore
give more back to charity.
