Post-Polio Survivors of NEPA
The Polio virus affected millions of lives during the 1930's, 40's and 50's.  Thankfully, Polio has been fully eradicated in the United States.  Still, there are about one million survivors remaining.  Those individuals afflicted by the disease did not let their disability hold them back from leading normal, productive lives.  But what they didn't know is that the disease would return as Post-Polio Syndrome years later.  Thinking they were no longer dependent on their leg braces, canes, crutches and wheelchairs, they find that once again they need these medical devices a they become older.  Many individuals were not prepared fo rthe financial burden by being underindures or not insured at all.  The Post-Polio Survivors of NEPA  helps those who are in need.
