    • All Set for the inaugural CIMB Asia Pacific Classic,

    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The most anticipated sporting event of the year - The CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia is all set to tee off at the Mines Resort & Golf Club next week. With a compelling list of world class golfers expected to descend on the club from 28 to 31 October 2010, preparations for this year's inaugural tournament is underway to cater to the throng of golf enthusiasts eagerly waiting to catch glimpses of their favourite players in action. The Mines Resort & Golf Club is abuzz with mounting excitement as the marquees and exhibition booths are being erected for the tournament next week. Spectators and golf enthusiasts can expect a host of exciting activities at the public village, which includes a PGA TOUR simulator presented by CIMB Group, an activity corner for kids as well as an inflatable driving range. There will also be daily putting and chipping competitions with attractive prizes to be won. In addition to the public village, there will be a range of golf merchandise available for sale as well as a public catering area with big screen televisions for public viewing. The public village will also be equipped with an information counter, ATM machines, a first aid booth and restrooms. Visitors can access the course through three entrances - the Main Entrance at the Mines Exhibition Centre the entrance at The Mines Waterfront Park; and for hotel guests, through the Palace of the Golden Horses. There will be free shuttle busses running from the Mines Waterfront Park via the Palace of the Golden Horses to the Main Entrance. There will also be boat shuttles available across the lake from the Mines Waterfront Park to the main entrance at a minimal fee. Drop off zones for spectators have also been allocated next to the Main Entrance and in front of the Mines Exhibition Centre. Please note that pre-purchased tickets via the internet or call centre can be redeemed at the ticket booth at the main entrance only. The first tournament sanctioned by the PGA TOUR in Southeast Asia, the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia, will be held from 28 to 31 October 2010 at the Mines Resort & Golf Club. The tournament is co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR, Asian Tour and the Professional Golf Association of Malaysia (PGAM). In its inaugural year, it will feature an international field of 40 players competing for a US$6 million prize purse, with the winner taking home a prize purse of US$1 million. The top 25 available players from the PGA TOUR's final FedExCup standing will qualify for the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia. The top 10 players from the current Asian Tour Order of Merit and five players under sponsor's exemption will join them to complete one of the strongest playing fields in Asia's golf tournament circuit.
