Accenture Match Play Championship
28 Years Old
John Rollins gave Tiger Woods a scare in the first round, taking him to the 18th hole before falling in the first round. Woods then beat Trevor Immelman, Thomas Bjorn, Padraig Harrington and Stephen Leaney to reach the final against Davis Love III. Love was actually 1 up after the first 18 before becoming unnerved by a heckler who was later removed from the course. Woods took the lead for good when he made a 12-footer for birdie at the 25th hole. He won the next two, as well, and was never headed again as he successfully defended his title. "It basically boils down to what my dad has always told me when it comes to match play," Woods said. "All you have to do is just be better than your opponent that day. That's it. All you have to do is win more holes than you lose. It's as simple as that."
