This is the fourth time in his career that K.J. Choi has held a 54-hole lead.

• Four of the five winners of the Chrysler Championship have been international players, including the last four. After American John Huston won the inaugural event in 2000, and the 2001 tournament was cancelled due to the events of 9/11, South Korea’s K.J. Choi won in 2002, followed by South Africa’s Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh of Fiji and Carl Pettersson of Sweden in 2005. There are five international players in the top-10 through 54-holes– K.J. Choi (1), Ernie Els (T2), Mike Weir (T9), Richard S. Johnson (T9) and Vijay Singh (T9).

• Paul Goydos, No. 160 on the PGA TOUR money list heading into this week’s final full-field tournament of the season, posted rounds of 68-68-69 and is tied for second through three rounds. Goydos began the season in the Major Medical Extension category and earned enough in his first 12 events to remain in that category for the entire season. He will have to finish inside the top 125 to regain that fully-exempt status for the 2007 season. His current position on the leaderboard would move him up to No. 102 on the money list. He needs to finish solo fourth or better to move inside the top 125.

• Four of the five players who have held at least a share of the third-round lead at the Chrysler Championship have gone on to victory -- K.J. Choi (2002), Retief Goosen (2003), Vijay Singh (2004) and Carl Pettersson (2005). Carl Paulson finished second behind John Huston in 2000.

• In the history of the Chrysler Championship, three players have posted four rounds in the 60s -- Vijay Singh and Jesper Parnevik in 2004 and K.J. Choi in 2002. Through three rounds, Paul Goydos is the only player that can add his name to the elite list.

• Paul Goydos’ only PGA TOUR title came at the 1996 Bay Hill Invitational. Should he win on Sunday, The 42-year-old, would end a victory drought of exactly 10 years and seven months and 11 days or 256 consecutive appearances on TOUR, including this week.

• Brian Gay and Richard S. Johnson are both searching for their first PGA TOUR victories. Gay is playing in his 256th career PGA TOUR event, while Johnson is appearing in his 106th event on TOUR Gay finished T2 at the 2001 MasterCard Colonial and 2002 Buick Open; his best-ever finishes to date on the circuit. Johnson’s best-career finish on the PGA TOUR is solo second at the 2006 Bank of America Colonial.

• Bogey free rounds on Saturday: Richard Johnson and Joe Durant…There were only two eagles recorded in the third round by: Troy Matteson (No. 5) and Rod Pampling (No. 11).

• Breaking down Troy Matteson’s numbers…in his first 27 starts he had 39 of 81 rounds at par-or-better (71.93 average) and in his last five starts, including this week he has had 18 of 19 rounds at par-or-better (68.11 average)… He started the season 322nd on the Official World Golf Rankings.

• Rookie Troy Matteson fired a 7-under 64 on Saturday and is alone in fifth heading into Sunday’s final round. He is looking to win for the second time this season. The last rookie to win twice in a season was Todd Hamilton in 2005 (The Honda Classic and British Open). A victory by Matteson could make the voting for Rookie of the Year very interesting.

• Race to keep card: It looks like Mark Calcavecchia will secure a spot inside the top-125 in the final season money list thanks to making the cut at the Chrysler Championship. He needed $7,010 to surpass Bubba Dickerson who is in the 125th spot coming into the week. The last place payout on Sunday is $10,600. Although a very high finish by Tim Petrovic, Duffy Waldorf or Paul Goydos could push Calcavecchia back outside the top-125.

• Race inside the top-150: Lee Janzen, who has been using his one time exemption of Top-50 on the PGA TOUR Career money list in 2006, has earned $365,706 of his $508,555 season money in three of his last four starts on TOUR, thanks to a third place finish at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic and T5 at the Frys.com Open. He was 147th on the season money list coming into the week at the Chrysler Championship and managed to make the cut on the number (+2, 144). Making the cut should secure his position inside the top-150 (No. 126-No. 150) for the 2007 season.

• The Chrysler Championship is the 10th event on the 11-tournament PGA TOUR Fall Finish presented by PricewaterhouseCoopers schedule, which is an 11-tournament series that includes enhanced purses and bonus awards totaling $1 million, with $500,000 going to the top player. The series runs through the season-ending TOUR Championship. Points are awarded for each top-10 finish, from 100 points for first place to 10 for 10th. Carl Pettersson, on the strength of a win at the 2005 Chrysler Championship, won the Fall Finish in 2005. Other winners include Vijay Singh (2003-05), Bob Estes (2002) and Tiger Woods (2001).
