SANDY, Utah -- Bryce Molder, who was 3 under on the day through 15 holes, had moved to 19 under when play was suspended due to inclement weather during the third round of the $475,000 Utah Energy Solutions Championship. Play was stopped for the second time on Saturday at 5:50 p.m. when lightning in the area made for a dangerous situation. The first suspension due to inclement weather came at 2:30 p.m. and lasted for one hour and 42 minutes. Molder was one of seven players still out on the course at the time of the final suspension. Those players will be back in position at 7:45 a.m., with the final round beginning at approximately 8:45 a.m. The final group is expected to start at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. Molder currently holds a four-shot advantage over Craig Kanada, who posted the round of the day with a 7-under 65 to move to 15-under and the clubhouse lead. Kanada, who began the day eight strokes behind Molder, got off to a blazing start at the par-72 Willow Creek Country Club, posting eagle-birdie-par-birdie on the opening four holes. "I got off to a great start," said Kanada, who hit 11 of 13 fairways and 17 of 18 greens in regulation. "It was a perfect start going 4 under through four holes. When you are eight shots back you have to shoot lights out to catch him (Molder)." Playing in his 212th Nationwide Tour event, Kanada is hoping a strong final round will finally give him the breakthrough win he has been seeking since playing his first event on the Tour in 1991. During that span, he amassed 27 top-10 finishes, including five runner-up finishes and three third-place showings. "Hopefully I'll get in that last group and compete with him head to head," said Kanada. "The course is playing really short so there are birdies to be made. This golf course suits me. You have to have a finesse game and that is my game." Ken Duke (68) is in third place and sits six shots behind Molder, while Jamie Broce (66) and Scott Parel (69) are seven shots back.
