E-Notes: Furyk to make noise at Cog Hill

PGA TOUR staff

• Look for Jim Furyk to make some noise this week in Chicago. The 2005 Cialis Western Open champ has finished in the Top-10 in six of his last seven starts at Cog Hill.

• Tiger Woods will be looking for his fourth Cialis Western Open title this week. That would still leave him one shy of Walter Hagen who claimed five Western titles and was also the runner-up four times. A fourth win by Woods would equal the four each won by Willie Anderson and Billy Casper.

• The Cialis Western Open has been played in 16 different states over the years, including since non-western sites as Buffalo, NY; Memphis, TN; Cleveland, OH and Aspinwall, PA.

• Rookie Bubba Dickerson had his first career Top-10 finish last week at the Buick Championship. His T5 jumped him all the way from 160th on the money list to 134th.

• J.J. Henry's victory last week in Hartford was the 189th by a former Nationwide Tour player on the PGA TOUR. It was the 14th win by former Nationwide Tour players this year.

• More on Henry: His win last week made him the third player to win a tournament in his native state this year. He joins Californian's Tiger Woods (Buick Invitational) and Arron Oberholser (AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am).
