EXEMPT STATUS

Earns two-year exemption on the PGA TOUR that will take him through the 2008 season. Earns exemption into everal invitational tournaments in 2006, PGA Championship, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the 2007 Mercedes Championships in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii.

BUICK INVITATIONAL NOTES

• First victory at the Buick Championship comes in his eighth appearance at this tournament.

• Becomes the 11th player to win his first PGA TOUR event at the Buick Championship and the first since Brent Geiberger in 1999. He joins: Bob Toski (1953), Charlie Sifford (1967), Don Bies (1975), Phil Blackmar (1985), Mac O’Grady (1986), Mark Brooks (1988), Billy Ray Brown (1991), Stewart Cink (1997), Olin Browne (1998) and Geiberger (1999).

• A native of Fairfield, Conn., he becomes the first native of Connecticut to win the Buick Championship.

• J.J. Henry has recorded 14 rounds in the 60s out of 26 competitive rounds at the Buick Championship. His third-round 7-under 63 is a career-best for him at the TPC River Highlands.

2006 NOTES

• Earns a spot in the field for the British Open Championship – the leading player, not otherwise exempt, among the top 10 finishers and ties from the 2006 Buick Championship.

• Collects $792,000 first-place check, the largest of his career, which brings his season earnings on the PGA TOUR to $1,616,683, ranked 21st. He becomes the 46th player to surpass $1 million in season earnings in 2006.

• Becomes the sixth first-time winner on the PGA TOUR in 2006 through 27 TOUR events. He joins J.B. Holmes (FBR Open), Arron Oberholser (AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am), Aaron Baddeley (MCI Heritage), Chris Couch (Zurich Classic of New Orleans) and Brett Wetterich (EDS Byron Nelson Championship).

• Earns 375 Ryder Cup points and moves to sixth on the Ryder Cup standings.
