Australian Adam Scott has posted three consecutive top-5s on the PGA TOUR -- a solo third at the Wachovia Championship, a tie for third at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, and a tie for fourth at the Memorial Tournament. • In earning $1,025,667 in his last three starts, Scott has jumped to No. 19 on the PGA TOUR Official Money List with $1,794,040. • Scott is making his third start at the Barclays Classic -- he finished tied for 79th in 2002 and tied for 32nd in 2004… • More on Scott: Next week, Scott will make his 21st start at a major championship and his fifth start at the U.S. Open. His best major finish was a tie for ninth at both the 2002 Masters Tournament and the 2004 PGA Championship. His best U.S. Open finish was a tie for 28th last year -- his first made cut in four starts at the U.S. Open. Scott has played in every major championship since the British Open in 2001, a streak of 19 consecutive major starts.

Harrington entered the week with the lowest scoring average in Barclays Classic history (8+ rounds) at 68.25. • Last week’s Memorial Tournament champion Carl Pettersson posted a 2-over-par 73.
Westchester CC Scoring Average (2002-2006) • There have been eight first-time winners at the Barclays Classic: Andy North (1977), Jack Renner (1979), Wayne Grady (1989), Vijay Singh (1993), J.P. Hayes (1998), Dennis Paulson (2000), Chris Smith (2002) and Jonathan Kaye (2003). • After a 1-under-par 70 on Thursday, Brad Faxon is poised to extend his record-setting consecutive cut streak at the Barclays Classic to 18. Faxon has made 18 of 21 cuts at Westchester in his career dating back to 1984, and his 22nd career start in 2006 is tied with Ben Crenshaw for fourth all-time. His 19th career cut at Westchester CC would match Jay Haas for most made cuts at the event. • Steve Elkington (even-par 71) is in line to extend his streak to 15 consecutive at Westchester Country Club. The streak includes the 2000 season when he made the cut but was forced to withdraw due to injury. Overall, he has made 15 cuts in 17 starts at Westchester CC. • Dudley Hart withdrew after five holes due to an injured hip. Pat Perez, who has battled an injury in his left elbow the last few months, withdrew after eight holes. Perez withdrew from the Verizon Heritage during the first round back in April and did not return to action until last week at the Memorial Tournament, where he missed the cut. The field size now sits at 154 with the withdrawal. • Fifteen of the 38 previous Barclays Classic have been scheduled the week prior to the U.S. Open.
