Editor’s note: Jeff Maggert won his third PGA TOUR title on Sunday at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Maggert, who now gets to head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes Championships in 2007. Watch highlights of Maggert's victory My father passed away last Friday. On October 9th, 1996, he was one of four people in Texas to win a Diamond Shamrock contest to play in the Texas Open Pro-Am. Mr. Maggert was the pro. My father was honored to play with you and I'm sure he was there playing alongside you this past weekend. That weekend in ‘96 made my father's life and I just wanted to congratulate you on your victory. God Bless, Scott Arthurs Congrats Jeff on a wonderfully played golf tournament. We Houstonians are all proud of you. Your play down the stretch was AWESOME! Good luck in your golfing future. Keenan Lazenby Congratulations! A long time coming... way to roll the ball! See you back home in The Canyon. The Casey's Hi Jeff, You have been my favorite golfer for 10 years! I am so happy that you had a win on the PGA TOUR. I am in Australia and always look out on cable TV and the Internet for your scores. I even play PING equipment because you do! Well done again -- hope the next win is not far away (U.S. Open would be nice!). Andrew Zach As your fan in Houston, Texas, I enjoyed your one-of-a-kind performance on Sunday in Memphis. I have never seen you putt this way and how about that second shot on the 16th. I am happy I did not have to sweat very much past the 16th. Jeff, don't stop there, win the U.S. Open and many more. Enjoy this one. Regards, Tony Pour Way to go Jeff! The Woodlands is proud of you. Clutch putting, straight woods and stiff irons, what a Sunday show. I say we have a party at Wing N More on Monday! You're buying! Paul Clark Congratulations Jeff on your first win since 1999 - I'm sure it feels fantastic to win again. You closed the tourney out in grand style, which must have felt great to finish in that manner. I've enjoyed following your career and wish you the best in the future! Steve Innes Way to go Jeff. I've followed you for years ever since you gave me a signed golf ball at Enron. I'm really glad you won. I look forward to tournaments each week when you are in them and sort of bypass them when you don't make the cut. I'm hoping this will get you back to the Masters one more time to see how far you can go. Once again, congratulations on behalf of the Shell US Marketing group. We're all pulling for you. Ralph Stanley Good things to happen to good people. Congratulations - I remember you taking the time to give a Jr. Clinic at Texas Jr. a few years back. Thanks and Good Luck, Tom Odenthal Good to see a real gentleman get back in the thick of things again. I remember your win in 1999. You beat a big name or two that weekend and played well for some time after that, so hopefully the same will happen. Forty-two is not old. Jack Henman Congrats Jeff! Been following you since the 2004 U.S. Open. Wanted to say congrats to your caddy Mark too! Hope to see you at Winged Foot! Dan Furdon, Dean Furdon, Chris Rossino and Gary Anderson It was good to see you win again. I have watched your career closely, being as I pay attention to what all Texas A&M Aggies do in their professional sports careers. It's been a long time since the World Golf Championships- Accenture Match Play Championship win -- I can't believe it's been seven years. Anyway, keep it up. We Aggies in the Midwest are proud of your accomplishment. Mark Alford My wife and I have been fans of yours since you left Aggieland. Our proudest fan moments are the way you hung in The Masters a couple of years back, your overtime win in the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship and your win today! Congrats from a couple of long-suffering Aggie fans. Keep up the good play. God bless, Ken Beene Way to go Mag. We have followed you for fifteen years. You were kind enough to get tickets for my son and myself to the PGA Championship in St. Louis and Quad Cities Open through your Aunt Sue. I am married to your Aunt Sue's sister-in-law, Sue. We are thrilled for your victory. You closed the deal! Congratulations! Jim & Sue Ricker Jeff, I could not be happier for you in your win. May there be even more in the immediate future. Jon Scott Congrats on a great final 18 holes of golf to win the tournament. You have a wonderfully simple and compact golf swing that I would love to emulate. Bill Anderson I have watched your career for many years and felt your consistent play has not rewarded you properly. I am pleased to see you win and wish you well in the future. You are a very good player, as shown in your record at the Majors. I sincerely hope you have good success in the future. I am in New Zealand, so you have a few fans outside the United States. Good luck! Alan Hancox Way to go, Jeff! Congratulations from Athens, Greece. I've always been a fan of yours. I'm happy for you that you're in the winner's circle again. Sam Holdsambeck Way to go, Mr. Maggert -- perseverance obviously pays off! When you won your first PGA TOUR event under those flood lights that surrounded the 18th green at the FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort back in '93, I'll bet you didn't think it would be 2006 before you notched a winning hat-trick! Here's to many more wins! Gord Vincent Jeff, congratulations! I have followed you for many years for two reasons: you've always conducted yourself very professionally and, in my opinion, you have the best swing on tour. You are always playing within yourself, which helps me with my game by watching yours. I am very happy that you've broken through -- it's been a while. I sure hope you see this message! Sincerely, Bob Peach Mr. Maggert, Congratulations on a great win! I've always admired your play on the TOUR. I'm proud to have your autograph on my "PLAYERS Championship at Sawgrass” hat, as you indeed are a champion. Thank you for your great golf over the years. Frank Newman Felicitaciones para Jeff Maggert, quien es para mi dueño de uno de los mejor swing del tour y que sin duda tubo que haber ganado mas. Nahuel Jeff, great win yesterday. It is always great seeing a Texas A&Μ grad do well. (My brother is also an Aggie). GIG EM! Harry Mann Jr. Congratulations, Jeff! You were brilliant. Good persistence with the putter tooling. Enjoy all the good stuff, especially your family. Carol Mann Jeff is nothing but class! I seen him at many functions in Houston, Texas and, whether talking about the weather or The Masters that got away, he truly is a better person than golfer. He is one heck of a golfer though. Willial Horner Jeff: Great playing, buddy, way to finish. It was a blast for me and my son Jesse to watch. I told him, “That is the guy that used to beat me when I was younger.” He is getting hooked on the game and watching you finish really excited him, as it did me. Way to go -- hope there are many more for you. See you soon, Donnie Massengale |
