The 36-hole cut was at 4-over-par 144 with 74 players playing on the weekend. It is the highest cut and only the third time since the tournament moved to TPC Southwind that the 36-hole cut has been over-par.

Over-par cuts at the TPC Southwind
1989 -- 2-over (Par 71)
2004 -- 1-over (Par-71)
2006 -- 4-over (Par-70)

It is the ninth time in 18 events with a 36-hole cut this season that the cut has been over-par, including the fourth week in a row (Wachovia Championship, EDS Byron Nelson Championship, Bank of America Colonial). Here are this year’s over-par cuts:
4-over, Masters Tournament
4-over, FedEx St. Jude Classic
3-over, Sony Open in Hawaii
3-over, The Honda Classic
2-over, Wachovia Championship
1-over, Bay Hill Invitational
1-over, Nissan Open

Two-time champion, David Toms recorded his 11th consecutive cut in Memphis (12 made cuts, 15 starts). Nick Price (-2) made his 17th cut and moves into a tie for fourth for most cuts made in Memphis. Bob Estes (+1) made his 16th cut, moving into a tie for fifth on the list. Tim Herron has never missed a cut at the FedEx St. Jude Classic in his 10 appearances. Notah Begay III missed the cut for the first time in Memphis in seven appearances.

This is first time that Darron Stiles has held/shared the 36-hole lead in his PGA TOUR career. The only lead he has ever held at the end of a round on the PGA TOUR was after first round of the 2003 FedEx St. Jude Classic, after posting an opening 7-under 64. He shared the first round lead in Memphis with Richard S. Johnson and Jay Haas. He is a four-time winner on the Nationwide Tour including two weeks ago at the Rheem Classic in Fort Smith, Ark.
