Editor’s note: Tim Herron won his fourth PGA TOUR title on Sunday at the Bank of America Colonial. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Herron, who now gets to head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes Championships in 2007.
Great win, Tim. Chalk up another one for us shoppers at Big & Tall.
Seriously, congratulations. Keep playing well and make some noise in the U.S. Open at the Winged Foot Golf Club.
Tim, I'm sure there were a lot of us who are "not buffed, but still play
well" that were thrilled with your victory at the Bank of America
Colonial on Sunday. One of the great aspects of golf is that we can get
older and lose our "shape" but still play pretty well. You represent
that status for loads of us who can still make birdies and pars. We were
all cheering for you and "imagining ourselves hitting those great shots
and putts" that propelled you to win. I brought my family to the room to
show them you, your game and your success with the comment, "See, what a
game and victory for the regulars over the little wispy youngster. Come
on boys, it might be a little longer before you beat up on the old lumpy
man!" Thanks Tim and we'll be here rooting you on to your next triumph!
A great putting show! Equally important, 'thanks' for your post round
comments on the Target House and the St. Jude’s Children's Research
Hospital, which you and your wife support, as well as next week's PGA
TOUR tournament, the FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis.
Hey Timmy -- great job in your win at the Bank of America Colonial. Your
putting was awesome! I wore my Lumpy 2002 PGA Championship hat from Lumpy's lunch bus while I watched on TV.
Have fun, and enjoy your victory!
Tim, Congratulations! It has been a long time since you stayed at our
house while on the (Nationwide Tour) at The Dominion Club. My wife and
daughter also wanted to send you their best.
Way to go, Tim! Everybody at Sauk Centre Country Club was watching and
cheering for you. C'mon back and play again sometime soon, but you'll
have to give us more strokes now!
Tim, congratulations on your win. My first recollection of you is when I
saw you playing the 18th hole at Bunker Hills, I think it was in the
Minnesota Open. My guess is that you were in college. Anyway, you hit a
massive tee shot and I was certainly impressed. Since then, you have
accomplished much in the game of golf. Yesterday, my son (he's about
your age) and I played golf and then watched your win on tape. You were
right when you said you made it interesting for the viewers. Next time,
feel free to make it less interesting for us. You represent Minnesota
well. Keep that pleasant, easygoing personality. Good luck with your
golf and, more importantly, with your family.
Dear Tim, congratulations on your win at the Bank of America Colonial! I
have followed your career ever since I learned you were dating Annie. My
wife, Karen Lokensgard Long, used to be Annie's babysitter. The Paulson
and Lokensgard families were neighbors for many years. I feel like I
know you, as I've heard your in-laws and my mother-in-law talk about you
and Annie many, many times. I'm very happy for you, Annie and your
growing family. I hope the golfing gods continue to look upon you
favorably.
I am so thrilled you won, "Lumpy"! Congratulations! You are an honor to
American golf. Also, I enjoyed reading your restaurant recommendations!
Best wishes for continued success!
Hey Lumpy, way to go! We are all very proud of you here in Lobo Country!
You have made it on all the local channels! Hope to hear you on the
local radio sports shows tomorrow. Let's go LOBOS! Great victory!
Who said nice guys finish last? Congrats! Hope there are many more to
come.
Lumpy, congrats on the win. It's been a while since I've seen that kind
of clutch putting with so much on the line -- on the 17th and 18th for
par and on the second playoff hole for the victory. It is even more
rewarding that you got to share it with your new additions to the
family. By the way, back in December, I chose you for my fantasy golf
team and, despite people telling me I was crazy, I stuck with you. I've
always loved your style of play. You wear your emotions on your sleeve
and, whatever happens, you always seem to be having fun. Best of luck
the rest of the year and all the best raising those twins.
A great win, Tim! Tough course -- that's no piece of cake. You ground it
out and hung in there to the finish. We're proud to be a sponsor.
Way to go, Lumpy, you made me look like a genius! I am working overseas
right now and I have a British buddy I work with who bets on golf each
week and I told him to bet on you. Well, we know what happened, and I'm
sure he will be buying lunch this week. It's a little boring over here
and you sure brighten things up for a Minnesota guy working overseas.
Thanks Tim and congrats.
The Herron name means a lot to golfers at Willmar, Minn. who remember
with fondness your dad, Carson, when he played at the Lakeland
Tournament here years ago. My daughter, Kari King, also knows you and
your sister through work connections. Congratulations to you, Tim, and
to the whole Herron family from Willmar and our family!
Way to go Tim. I am a Minnesota transplant in Alabama but I still pull
for Lumpy, Tom Lehman and Cameron Beckman. You can take a boy out of Minnesota but you can’t
take Minnesota out of the boy.
Congrats Lumpy! For some reason I have followed your career and always
root for you to win the tournament. Guess it’s your non-conformity to
the sleek, racehorse image of your competitors.
Way to go Lumpster! Watching you win in Fort Worth, Texas was better
than watching the Super Bowl. This win validates your spectacular finish
from 2005. Congrats on your win and your twins. I'm sure it won't be
another 204 tournaments before you win number five. Don't change a
thing! Your biggest fan,
I enjoyed watching you win the tournament. Just last Friday I played a
scramble with your brother-in-law in Omaha and, lo and behold, you win
the next week. Congrats from Omaha.
Tim, Pam and I are members at Wayzata Country Club and we are so proud
of you. What a great champion you are. We live in Cottagewood and are
going over to TP your house tonight.
Congratulations Tim. It's always refreshing to see a golfer beat the
'athletes'. God bless you, your bride, and your twins!
Tim, Way to go! I loved it. Very exciting, great putting. I played with
Jimmy Whal in the Wayzata CC Guest Day yesterday, and we were thinking
positive thoughts for you. Some day, when you are in town, it would be a
dream come true to play with you again. Maybe Jimmy can set it up.
Tim, congratulations on a long-deserved victory. Your ability to keep
grinding on the TOUR is an inspiration to many duffers like myself who
just play the game for the love of it. Win a couple more this year for
us and thanks a million for an outstanding effort.
You are great. I remember you schlepping through our yard when you were
a kid to get to the Wayzata course. Now you can buy the neighborhood.
Keep it up, and stay in Minnesota!
Way to go Tim! Breakfast is on me next time you are back in Wayzata at
the OPH!
You have been one of my favorite golfers for a while. You were very nice
to my kids at the Memorial Tournament a long time ago. Way to go! It is
nice to see a person so in love with their family. You’re a good man.
Hope to see you in Columbus in early June. |
