Editor’s note: Brett Wetterich won his first PGA TOUR title on Sunday at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Wetterich, who now gets to head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes Championships in 2007.
Brett, I'd like to congratulate you on your well deserved victory. All
the hard work and tough times are all in the past with bright skies
ahead. We played together at the FUNAI Classic at the WALT DISNEY WORLD
Resort pro-am (I was the short, overweight, old one) and could see that
you were getting real close.
Brett, Congrats on the big win. I always felt you had the talent to get
this far, but was so impressed how you stuck with it over the years. I
grew up in Cincinnati and I’m the same age as you, in fact we played
golf against each other competitively in our high school years. I was
always intimidated by how strong your game was back then and how far you
hit a 3-wood (persimmon). There are many of us back here in Cincy that
were pulling hard for you down the stretch and to see you come thru so
strong was definitely inspiring. Keep the good golf going, I want to see
you in the Majors and especially Augusta. Way to go Brett! I played golf with you at Oak Hills High School and have been following you ever since!
Congrats on breaking into the winner's circle. Brett, Congratulations on a hard fought win at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Your determination and composure down the stretch was incredible. I was glad to see a fellow Cincinnatian bring home the breakthrough win. Go out and celebrate with some Skyline chili and Graeters ice cream. Good luck the rest of the year!!
All of us in the 'Nati will be pulling for you the rest of the season.
Congratulations -- I'm Lisa's Aunt Kay. Ed and I really enjoyed watching
you win today. I kept telling Mark to help you. Way to go.
Congratulations Brett from all your friends at Patricks. By the way we
had to put Pat on oxygen over the last two holes.
Brett, I couldn't be happier for you and your victory. Having grown up
in Akron area and attending Miami U., I have lots of friends from Cinci.
I always follow and root the hometown boys and having lost two
sister-in-laws to auto accidents I can surly relate to your feelings.
Great job and I am sure Mark was watching.
You just made Hidden Valley and Cincinnati proud. Some of us Elder
Panthers are jealous now. It was awesome to be tuned in all week.
Congrats!
We are so proud of you. I know Mark was there with you. Words can't
express how proud we are and the positive effect it has on the family. |
