Editor’s note: Chris Couch won his first PGA TOUR title on Sunday at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Couch, who now gets to head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes Championships in 2007.
How far you have come. After I looped for you in 1999 at the Michelob
Championship in Virginia and watched you snap that 5-wood over your knee
after hitting two shots OB on the par 5 to now winning in incredible
style in New Orleans with an amazing chip on 18. Congratulations and I
wish you the best in the future.
Chris, great finish! I played golf with you and Mike Collins at
Signature at West Neck during your off day at the 2003 Virginia Beach Open. I am very happy for your success. Keep rolling
on TOUR where you belong.
Chris! Congratulations buddy!!! Donny, my mom and dad, and I are so
excited and proud of you! I was watching the tournament while working in
my garage and screamed to the top of my lungs when that chip went in!!
Dad was watching as well. We've all been following you for years now and
are so happy to see you hangin' tough and doing well. All that work is
paying off! Enjoy the ride and count your blessings. Donny is living
down in Fort Lauderdale. My wife and I live in Orlando. Say hey to your
dad and Chad for us.
You have given many golfers hope. Whether professional golfers or
weekend high handicappers, your perseverance has encouraged us to keep
working at the game we love.
Congratulations Chris! It was great to see you get a victory. Hope you
and your family are doing well. Say hi to Chad for me. Congratulations
again!!
Awesome job Chris! Way to prove Jim Nantz and Lanny Wadkins wrong, cause after you hit in the bunker on 18 they
weren't giving you much of chance to win. Again great job and
congratulations!
Chris, the entire Deeds family was on the edge of their seats all day.
My wife asked me what you needed to do on your last shot. I told her you
needed one of those miracle shots for the win. Ten seconds later it was
in the cup. I called my parents immediately, but neither one of them
could talk because they were in tears -- even Dad. I follow you each
week on the web and in the papers. My Dad said the phone rang off the
hook with people calling about your win. He is as proud of you as if you
were his son. Once again, congrats on your victory!
Chris, congrats on your first win! It is always great to see fellow
Gators win and players that have taken lessons from Jack Feola. My name
is Lisa Walker and I played at UF from ‘85-‘90 and started golf by
taking lessons from Jack Feola down at American Golfers Club. Would love
to hear from you and hear how long you have been using that grip for
chip shots. I used to do that too, but stopped using it but after seeing
you use it I might start trying again. Congrats again. |
