Editor’s note: Chad Campbell won the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic by three strokes on Sunday. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Campbell, who now gets to head back to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes Championships in 2007. I'm just one of many admirers who just wanted to congratulate you and
wish you well. The first time I saw you swing I was reminded of Byron
Nelson, both his swing and demeanor. I first saw him on my 17th birthday
in 1949. You, too can be a great player if keep doing what you're doing.
Chad, All the folks in the Permian Basin are so very proud of you and
your victory. Few could be prouder than Delnor Poss. My son played for
him the past two years (Derek Jordan-Monahans) and I can tell you that
you have no bigger fan than Delnor. Good luck in the upcoming
tournaments. By the way, you set a great example for all the younger
golfers that are watching you.
Congratulations, Chad. Great week of golf. We enjoyed watching you on
TV. You are off to a great start this year. Best of luck next week.
Great job, Chad! We in Andrews, Texas are so proud of you. We had been
watching you all the four days and knew from the beginning that you
would win after your steady start. Hope you win more for us to cheer
about! Go Mustangs, Go!
Huge! Chad, you have been off to a great start this season. Keep up the
good work. By the way, you just gave me big numbers in my fantasy
league. Keep hitting 'em straight.
Hi, Chad. Wow, what a great win. What a great two weeks. Your feel on
and around the greens was perfect. I've been talking you up to my
friends for a couple of years now and I'm glad to see you move to the
next level. What a great comeback from last week's second. What a great
mind set -- continuing the great play and frame of mind instead of
dwelling on not winning. That is how champions are created. Forge onward
and upward. Best of luck for a great year.
Chad, congratulations on your victory this week at the (Bob) Hope
(Chrysler Classic). After Pat Perez fired that 60 in the first round at
PGA (West), it overshadowed your fine bogey free 63 at Bermuda Dunes
Country Club. Your second round at La Quinta was also bogey free and you
were on your way. I love your demeanor, and it is fun for me as a former
golf professional to watch your "Hoganesque" swing. Your ball striking
is awesome and when your putter gets hot like it has been in 2006 --
lookout. I love your down-to-earth humble approach, and if young people
want to learn how to swing the golf club, they could study Hogan,
Weiskopf, Stewart, Purtzer or a young talent from Texas named Campbell.
Way to go Chad! You will win a major this year and I have a feeling it's
got a trophy that comes with a funny colored green jacket! Great job,
Chad!!!
Way to go, Chad and Judd. You had us biting our nails in back-to-back
weeks. This win was well-deserved. Great playing and good luck all
season. We'll be cheering for you and hosting watch parties every time
you're near the lead going into the weekend. You have developed quite a
following here in Plano! We hope to see you play soon.
Just wanted to say congratulations on your start this year. I spoke to
your mom a couple of months ago and told her that I am keeping up with
your accomplishments, and wish you and Amy the best. Take care and good
luck the rest of the year. Congratulations.
Congratulations! Many of us laypersons can identify with your amazing
esteem and focus. I mean this in the context of being put into extremely
difficult positions and trying to find a way out. Your amazing bunker
shot gives confidence to those who normally find themselves in
compromising predicaments. Keep up the good work!
Nice finish. I love to watch the touring pros to see how they handle the
course management with a lead! Some people think golfers watch golf on
TV just to relax, but I know that serious golfers watch to learn from
the best. Thanks for the "tips."
Chad, great start this year. Keep up the good ball-striking and keep
rollin' that rock. Reminds me of our days back on the Hooters Tour when
you dominated week to week. Awesome start!
Congrats! So I guess this means good guys don't always finish last. Stay
the way you are -- win or lose.
Congratulations, Chad from your fans in Cairo Egypt.
Chad, you have put the fun back into my watching the (PGA TOUR) --
especially since we knew you in Andrews. I owned Andrews Janitorial
Supply and was also the city judge until we moved in 1988 due to the oil
bust. You played some with my son Blair in the summers when he came out.
I still visit with Pete Francis and saw Lynn Sommers a year to two ago.
I look forward to your continued success and hope to see you at Colonial
where several of us old coaches work admissions. Congrats again and I
know this is only the start of a great year for you. Thanks, |
