To nobody's surprise, J.B. Holmes led the field at the Wells Fargo Championship in driving distance. Holmes clocked eight measured drives an average of 333.9 yards. He's tied for seventh on TOUR this season in that category at 305.0.
What is surprising, though, is how well Holmes putted at Quail Hollow. For the week, the big-hitting Kentucky native picked up 1.472 strokes on the field average on the greens. That's quite a bit better than his season average of .051, which ranked 89th entering the Wells Fargo Championship. He improved to 64th post-tournament at .183.
Holmes also finished T6 in scrambling, not bad considering he entered the week 42nd on TOUR in the stat at 61.07 percent.
