Patrick Reed was about as impressive with his irons at the Wyndham Championship as any player this season. He ranked first in greens in regulation, hitting 60 of 72 and second in proximity with an average mark of 29 feet, 6 inches. But his putting from short distance was also important. We'll take a look at Reed, Jordan Spieth and take a peek at the FedExCup Playoffs, which begin this week at The Barclays by going inside the numbers ...

2nd  Spieth was runner-up at Wyndham but is also second in the all-around ranking on TOUR, which is calculated by adding a player’s rank in Scoring Leaders, Putting Leaders, Eagle Leaders, Birdie Leaders, Sand Saves, Greens in Regulation, Driving Distance and Driving Accuracy. Spieth’s total comes out to 333. Only Tiger Woods is better at 210.

6  The top 6 players in the FedExCup standings also rank inside the top 35 in strokes gained-putting. … Tiger Woods (2), Matt Kuchar (19), Brandt Snedeker (5), Phil Mickelson (9), Bill Haas (35) and Billy Horschel (23) have all putted beautifully in 2013. Drive for show, putt for points.

9th  FedExCup rank for Henrik Stenson, the highest ranked player who has not won this season. … Stenson owns six top 10s in 2013, including five top 5s. He’s coming off three straight top-3 finishes. Stenson was second at the Open Championship, T2 at the World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational and third at the PGA Championship.

19th  Highest FedExCup rank by a player at the start of the FedExCup Playoffs to win the FedExCup. … Take that into consideration when selecting your FedExCup champion with the first event at The Barclays this week. Snedeker ranked 19th before going on to win the FedExCup last season. Bill Haas is the highest ranked player to win entering the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola. He was 25th before winning the FedExCup in 2011.

59 of 59  Reed’s putting from inside of 6 feet at the Wyndham. … Reed is only the third champion in 2013 to make all of his putts from this distance. He joins Tiger Woods (55 of 55) at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and Russell Henley (47 of 47) at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

87.50 percent  Driving accuracy for Wyndham leader Nick O’Hern, who hit 49 of 56 fairways and finished T45. … O’Hern’s percentage is tied for the second-best this season at an event. Only Ryan Moore’s staggering 96.43-percent mark (54 of 56) is better. Moore’s mark is also the best on TOUR since Joe Durant hit 98.21 percent of his fairways at the 2006 84 LUMBER Classic.
