Tiger Woods and Bo Van Pelt were the top finishers at last year’s AT&T National, with Woods taking first. This year the field will look a little different; Tiger Woods will not be back to defend his title. Woods will not participate due to an elbow strain.
During the tournament the difference between the two came down to how they played off the tee compared to their short game. Woods struggled in driving distance and accuracy, while having a strong performance in scrambling, where he ranked first. Meanwhile, Van Pelt ranked top 5 in driving accuracy but lacked in putting.
Below is a comparison of statistics from the 2012 AT&T National event.
