Boo Weekley is known as one of the better ball-strikers on the PGA TOUR. His putting? Not so much.
But Weekley's putting improved dramatically at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial this week, and it's a big reason why he was wearing the plaid jacket that goes to the winner on Sunday evening.
Weekley ranks seventh in greens in regulation and 14th in proximity to the hole in 2013. But he ranks 178th in strokes gained-putting at -.692. (He's losing more than a half shot per round to the field average on the greens.) He also ranks 145th in putts made from greater than 10 feet.
His stats were much better at Crowne Plaza. See for yourself.
