Note: Fantasy expert Rob Bolton provides his list of sleeper picks for every tournament. This week, he focuses his below-the-radar selections for Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard:
Chris Stroud Given that he's posted top 10s in his last two starts -- T5, Mayakoba; T9, The Honda Classic -- it's a borderline insult that he's included in this feature. What's more is that he has four top 15s in seven starts this year. He'd have cracked the Power Rankings if it weren't for his 0-for-1 at Bay Hill, and that was in 2009 before the renovation. Sits 45th on TOUR in Strokes Gained-Putting and seventh in adjusted scoring.
D.A. Points Off to a splendid start to 2012 with four top-15 finishes, the most recent of which was a T12 at The Honda Classic at the start of the Florida Swing. Hasn't missed the cut in five appearances at Bay Hill. Posted a T17 in 2010, the first year since the course was beefed up. Ranks 38th on TOUR in greens hit and 46th in adjusted scoring.
Brandt Jobe His early-season funk is a distant memory. Took last week off after four straight on the road. In his last two starts, he's finished T16 at the Honda and T9 in Puerto Rico. He ranked a respective T3 and T1 in greens in regulation in those events. Currently 22nd on TOUR in total driving and 51st in GIR.
.b>Cameron Tringale The first-timer at Bay Hill has struggled closing the door this year, but he illustrates his skills in just about every start. Two top 25s on the season, including a T4 at the Farmers. Overall, he's 16th on TOUR in total driving and 50th in Strokes Gained-Putting. His weakness is saving par from bunkers of which there are 80 this week. As a result, course management is at a premium for him more than most.
Michael Thompson Fresh off a T16 at the Transitions Championship, his third top 20 of the year. Ranked T10 in greens hit at Copperhead and closed with a 4-under 67 that included just one bogey. Getting his first look at Bay Hill where his greenside talent will come in handy. He's eighth on TOUR in sand saves and 24th in Strokes Gained-Putting.
